VRay Section with accurate lighting

Tutorial shows how to create a section rendered with VRay. In order to do this a material needs to be made that is invisble but still casts shadows.

If you want true elevations/orthogonal section renderings in Vray, you have to use a ortho cylindrical camera, and not the physical one, which will always give you a slight perspective. Unfortunately the ortho cameras cannot use the standard GI settings - you have to play around with standard directional lights, etc.
